Udio
AI music generator in transition after settling with Universal Music
Is Udio dead?

Udio generates full songs with vocals from text prompts and lets you extend and remix tracks. It was one of the two leading AI music apps alongside Suno. It was a good fit for podcasters, YouTubers, marketers and musicians who need fast, polished audio. After settling its copyright dispute with Universal Music Group in October 2025 and later partnering with Warner, Udio disabled audio, video and stem downloads while it moves to a licensed, walled-garden platform. A short download window for past songs ended in November 2025. You can still create and share via links, but plan for further changes. If you need something similar today, popular options include Suno, ElevenLabs Music, Stable Audio. Lesson for users: always keep your own copies of important data when you rely on any AI service, because products can change owners or close with little notice.
